The downtown arcade bar will be joining forces with Stray Rescue of St. Louis to screen the Puppy Bowl XIII. Five Stray Rescue puppies were selected to participate in this year’s game, and a few them are scheduled to appear for a post-game meet-and-greet with their adoring fans. Pre-game analysis and commentary begins at 1:30 p.m., followed by a 50/50 drawing and silent auction. Start Bar will be donating 50 percent of all pizza sales to Stray Rescue of St. Louis.

Yes, it’s named after a brand name grill. But the restaurant adjoined to the Galleria is anything but tacky. They have 16 beers on tap, their craft cocktail juices and fruit purees are prepared in house, and their menu includes a range of items such as BBQ ribs, crab cakes, and grilled vegetable salads. On Sunday, they will also will have a special happy hour menu available.
The neighborhood bar in Tower Grove made a name for itself last year after it very vocally announced that it would be not be broadcasting the Super Bowl. The sentiment resonated with enough St. Louisans for the bar to continue their anti-football position. They dubbed Sunday, February 5 “Superb Owl Sunday” and, via Facebook, invited interested parties to bring a coloring book, loom, casserole, or other alternative forms of entertainment.
