When the Rams moved to St. Louis in the ’90s, the team created a new mascot, Ramster, but he didn’t last long. Former Ram D’Marco Farr once said he looked like a rat. They’ve done much better with Rampage (stlouisrams.com/fans/rampage.html), who was introduced just three years ago, though he’s already been invited to butt heads at the NFL Pro Bowl twice. Look for him at the home opener on September 8, when the Rams play the Arizona Cardinals.
• I was born right here in St. Louis, Mo., in June 2010, but I like to throw my birthday party at one home game each season so that I can celebrate with 60,000 of my closest friends.

• My favorite tailgate food is boneless Seahawk wings, and my guilty pleasure would be birthday cake, from any of the birthday parties I get booked for.
• In between games, I am a busy, busy Ram. I make more than 300 appearances a year. This year alone, I have made appearances in Hawaii, Alaska, Canada, California, and Colorado. You can follow my daily activities on Twitter (twitter.com/STLRampage).
• I am the only mascot in the NFL that does a backflip.
• Leading the team out of the tunnel is absolutely my favorite thing to do at a Rams game. It is an indescribable adrenaline rush that keeps me energized for the entire game. I also make it a habit to go up into the stands after each home game and sign autographs and take pictures for any fan who wants one—no matter how tired I am.
• The NFL Pro Bowl is a pretty special event, because not all mascots get invited to participate, so it’s a real honor. But nothing compares to visiting the local children’s hospitals and putting a smile on a young Rams fan who may be fighting cancer or a terminal disease.
• Just like our players, I use training camp as my preparation for the season. Being out there in that heat every day helps me trim down any of that off-season weight.
• After a touchdown, I love to run out onto the field with the Rams flag guys and do my signature backflip while they wave the flags. Once I’m off the field, it’s high fives for anyone and everyone around me—cheerleaders, fans, security guys, cameramen, etc.
• I honestly don’t have any favorite Rams, but punter Johnny Hekker is very entertaining, and I’m worried he could take my job when his playing days are over.
• The first time seeing a young fan wearing a Rampage jersey in the stands was a really cool moment. It’s a pretty smart purchase, if you ask me, because I can guarantee you that I will never be traded or cut from the team.
