Need assistance in the aftermath of Tuesday’s flooding? These contacts can help

United Way of Greater St. Louis’ emergency 2-1-1 number can quickly connect you to emergency services.

Following Tuesday’s record-breaking rainfall that left one person dead and more than 70 others needing rescue from floods, the St. Louis region may see additional rainfall tonight and throughout the week. If you’ve been impacted by the flooding and are in need of assistance, or if you know someone who does, United Way of Greater St. Louis’ emergency 2-1-1 number can quickly connect you to emergency services, including shelter and food assistance. You can also use the number to report damages.

Shelter

  • St. Louis City and St. Louis County have combined services at the Richmond Heights Community Center, located at 8001 Dale Ave., in Richmond Heights.
  • Call 1-800-RED-CROSS for more information.

Food

  • For the quickest access to an emergency food pantry, call United Way at 2-1-1. 
  • St. Louis Area Foodbank, which is accessible online, has locations throughout St. Louis and St. Charles County.

Recovery Assistance

  • Contact the American Red Cross by calling 314-516-2800 in St. Louis.
  • The Insurance Information Institute lists contacts for insurance claims departments online.
  • Companies like Woodard and The Flood Team provide flood recovery services.

Reporting Issues

To report power outages and downed lines to Ameren, call 800-552-7583.

To report suspected gas leaks to Spire, call 800-887-4173 or dial 9-1-1.

To report non-emergency sewer issues to Metropolitan St. Louis Sewer District, call 866-281-5737. Emergency repair requests can be reported to 314-768-6260

To reach the City of St. Louis’ Citizens’ Service Bureau, call 314-622-4800.

To reach the county, report an issue online or call 314-615-8538.
