It’s a tale as old as time: Man is frustrated with dating apps, man creates website that acts as his personal dating site, man posts site on Facebook group about dating in St. Louis, man’s site goes viral, 300 women inquire about dating man…
In this case, we’re talking about Colin O’Brien and his site datecolinobrien.com, where, if you are single and interested in St. Louis, you can learn his stats (including Harry Potter house and Myers-Briggs personality type), pros (“interesting career” and “big fan of ‘Weird Al’ Yankovic”), and cons (“made this website”). After doing just that, O’Brien posted it on Facebook’s Date Ideas & Things to Do in STL, and it took off.

Now the dating innovator is back with another brilliant idea—and this time, he wants to help you. O’Brien is hosting a free, singles-themed Valentine’s event, Single on Valentine’s Happy Hour. From 5–8 p.m. on February 11, come mingle at the Urban Chestnut Brewing Company’s Midtown location (3229 Washington) where branding experts will be on hand to tweak your dating app profile, a photographer will capture an updated pic for you, and stylists can give your look a zhuzh. Who knows… maybe you’ll meet someone special.
And when you do, take our compatibility quiz—cowritten by O’Brien—to see if it’s true love. Why take O’Brien’s advice? Well, although he’s not ready to shut down the site quite yet, he thinks he’s found someone special.
