Habitat for Humanity Saint Louis headquarters and ReStore set to open May 1

The new 51,000-square-foot facility will be located in South St. Louis at the corner of South Grand and Chippewa.

What was once an empty National Supermarket in St. Louis’s Dutchtown neighborhood will now be the new home for Habitat for Humanity Saint Louis.

The nonprofit works to improve housing conditions and provide safe, decent and affordable housing in St. Louis City and County. Last April, the organization sold its existing building at 3763 Forest Park Ave. and will open a new ReStore on May 1st at the corner of South Grand and Chippewa Street. Like ReStore Des Peres, the new facility will be open Tuesday through Sunday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.,

The 51,000-square-foot space unites all of Habitat for Humanity Saint Louis’ resources and services under one roof. The facility will include administrative offices, a large conference room, a construction warehouse, and a 20,000-square-foot ReStore. Habitat for Humanity ReStores are nonprofit home improvement stores and donation centers that sell furniture, appliances, home accessories, building materials and more at a discounted price.

The ReStore will host a donation drive starting April 24th in hopes of filling the warehouse’s shelves before the grand opening. The ReStore accepts donations of new and gently used building/remodeling supplies and home furnishings. ReStore Des Peres will remain open.
