A guide to the 2025 Moonlight Ramble

The 61st edition of the annual nighttime ride will get rolling in and around Carondelet Park on August 9.

Billed as the longest-running nighttime ride in the country, the Moonlight Ramble is set to roll for the 61st time on August 9, with this year’s edition planned to center around Carondelet Park. The annual event brings bicycle enthusiasts of all ages and skill levels together each year for a fun group ride through the empty streets of St. Louis.

The basics

The 61st edition of the Moonlight Ramble takes place on Saturday, August 9 in and around Carondelet Park, though an official route has yet to be announced. The surrounding festival opens to visitors at 7 p.m., with the start of the ride set for 10 p.m. 

It’s an annual tradition for many families in the region. Riders of all ages and skill levels are encouraged to participate, though children under 17 must be accompanied by an adult.

How to register

Registration is open now, and you can register all the way up to the day of. Rider fees are $45, and all riders will receive a T-shirt (while supplies last) and snacks at the after party. Admission for child riders ages 7–17 costs $25. Any kiddo younger than 7 can ride for free, but they still must register before riding.

All riders 21 and up will also receive one complimentary beer from Urban Chestnut Brewing Company, while riders under the legal drinking age receive a Fitz’s soda.

Where to park

Beyond street parking—wherever you can find it—there will be several secure parking options designated for riders close to start/finish line announced closer to the event date.

Musical guests

Live music will play throughout the night, both before and after the ride. This year’s tunes are again supplied by Sugar Ray Charles, the self-proclaimed “hottest dad bods in St. Charles.”

The cause

As part of the event’s partnership, a portion of each registration, as well as all donations collected, will go to Trailnet to “help them advance their mission to foster healthy, active and vibrant communities where walking, biking and the use of public transit are a way of life.”
