These guys aren’t messing around. You name it, they teach it. With about 18 class types, Joy of Yoga offers students (and teachers) a wide variety of options geared toward optimizing physical, spiritual, or personal growth—or all of the above. Although their classes may be few, they more than make up for it with expertise, compassion, and inclusivity for anyone that walks through the door. One unique feature of this quaint studio is the Korean Judo Mat flooring which offers students a more comfortable (but still firm) alternative to the traditional studio floor. Blue Bird Yoga’s passion for sharing their love of yoga with the world is evident in both their simple approach to their practice and their incredibly competitive pricing. Between its two locations and 20 class types, this studio will keep you busy. Shanti’s authentic grassroots and community-based approach keeps students comfortable—even in those poses—and coming back for more every week. They are always looking for better ways to help students, improve classes, and facilitate healing. Southtown Yoga welcomes everyone with a simple approach to yoga. Their five class types serve one mission, to help people grow in their own yoga practice. For January only, they are offering a month of unlimited yoga for $60, and year-round you can get a week of unlimited for $20. They opened up shop back in 1970 as the first yoga studio in St. Louis. Solar Yoga is a nonprofit yoga center that focuses on a more traditional approach. As one of the longest standing yoga hubs in St. Louis, they see no need to overcomplicate things. They have seven types of classes with each instructor adding their own take to make each class a unique experience. Metro Power Yoga (soon to be Baptiste Power Yoga St. Louis) offers students a full schedule of nine different class types for all ability levels, including hot yoga, Aroma yoga (sign us up), and 'FUNdamentals' classes. Baptiste Power Yoga breaks away from traditional yoga to allow students a bit more freedom in their own practice.
