A St. Louis-themed wedding: Local couple ties the knot on 314 Day

The celebration included classic city views, food, and photo ops.

Gateway Greetings: St. Louis was the centerpiece of Lauren and Marcus Lee’s wedding. Born and raised in St. Louis, the couple met in May 2021 and got engaged in Forest Park during a paint-and-sip date night. The Lees chose a wedding date with special significance for both of them. “Being that we are both from St. Louis and have hometown pride, we were leaning toward 314 Day and lucked out that it was on a Friday,” Lauren says.

Ceremony & Reception: Held at the Live! by Loews Hotel, the couple’s cocktail hour and reception overlooked Busch Stadium and downtown. Lauren handcrafted table-number centerpieces representing 20 favorite local landmarks, including Clementine’s Creamery, City Foundry STL, and Soulard Farmers Market. Guest gift bags included a fleur de lis Schnucks goodie bag, Red Hot Riplets, Vess Soda, Fitz’s soda, Billy Goat chips, and an STL sticker and magnet. Music at the reception included songs from such St. Louis artists as Nelly and Murphy Lee. Guests enjoyed late-night bites of gooey butter cake from Gooey Louie and Imo’s pizza. The farewell brunch continued at a more modern local favorite, Katie’s Pizza and Pasta at Ballpark Village.

Endy Events captured the couple and their wedding party in front of the Missouri History Museum, at Forest Park’s Emerson Grand Basin, and Kiener Plaza, with the Gateway Arch and Old Courthouse in the background.

Attendees included a mix of St. Louisans and guests from cities such as Houston, Dallas, Minneapolis, Chicago, Washington D.C, and Atlanta. “All guests were able to resonate with the STL-themed details, and most importantly, everyone had a blast,” Lauren adds.
