On March 19, 2026, St. Louis Magazine hosted a Family Playdate at Macklind Make & Play, where families gathered for a fun, flexible, and imaginative day of play. With both a general session and a sensory-friendly session offered, families could choose the experience that best suited their needs and enjoy the space at their own pace.
Kids had full access to a wide variety of activities—from toys, playdough, and paint to iSpy, dress-up, play kitchens, camping setups, and more—giving them the freedom to explore, create, and make a mess without worry. The open-ended play encouraged creativity and independence, while parents and caregivers connected over coffee provided by Royal Banks of Missouri, the presenting sponsor. Little ones also enjoyed snacks from Mon Amie Poppy, adding an extra touch of sweetness to the day.
In the spirit of giving, we were proud to partner with The Little Bit Foundation by donating school supplies. If you’d still like to donate, check out their Amazon Wish List here.
St. Louis Magazine’s Family Playdates continue to bring together parents, caregivers, and kids from across the metro area for inclusive, low-stress fun at some of the region’s favorite family-friendly destinations.
