Blippi episode filmed at The Magic House set to air November 4

The episode features 3-year-old Levi Brunk of Wildwood, who won the nationwide “Blippi & Meekah in My Hometown” contest.

As reported by St. Louis Magazine earlier this fall, Levi Brunk became the luckiest toddler in the metro area when he won the nationwide “Blippi & Meekah in My Hometown” contest.

Now, on Saturday, that dream-come-true moment will air on the popular educational channel. The channel follows Blippi and best friend Meekah as they visit a variety of fun locations to teach kids about the world around them. And this time, that play date takes place at none other than Kirkwood’s The Magic House.

Levi’s episode is titled “Blippi and Meekah Construct A Friendship” and, according to a spokesperson for the show, follows the two hosts as they explore the children’s museum and find Levi in the construction zone. Together, they use construction vehicles to build a firehouse wall.

Entrants to the “Blippi & Meekah in My Hometown” contest were asked to submit videos showcasing their favorite spot in their hometown. Levi’s winning video introduces the enigmatic kiddo, dressed in Blippi’s signature look, as he plays at The Magic House.

“One of the great things that we saw with Levi was that he really rallied his local community—he was on the local news, in local newspapers,” Katelynn Heil, general manager of the Blippi franchise, told SLM in September. “We saw that the community engagement really paid off. He was in second place all the way up to the last day, and then we saw thousands of votes pile in and put Levi on top.”

Blippi’s creator, Stevin John, was motivated to make the channel after noticing that his nephew didn’t have access to many educational, kid-friendly programs on YouTube. The initial videos were inspired by his own childhood passion for construction vehicles. It’s a passion that Levi’s mom, Christie, says Blippi has definitely sparked in her child. As a former teacher, Christie told SLM she appreciates the balance of entertainment and education that she’s found through Blippi’s channel.

Levi has certainly become one of Blippi’s biggest fans, according to his mom. “We’ll probably be watching that episode every day for the rest of our lives; he’s so excited,” she told SLM in September.
