St. Louis restaurant openings, closings, and coming soons: July 2018

The “ins, outs, and almosts” in metro St. Louis for July 2018

The following list is accurate as of a late July press date. A condensed version will be published in SLM‘s September 2018 issue.

Editor’s Note: There were more closings than normal this month, but openings still outpaced them by a 2:1 margin. The biggest news of the month was Gerard Craft pulling the plug on his fast casual concept, Porano by Pastariajust two weeks after a refresh. The cannonballers making the biggest new splash this month were The Frisco Barroom and Hamilton’s Urban Steakhouse and Bourbon Bar, a rustic steakhouse concept from Paul and Wendy Hamilton. Peel Wood Fired Pizza made its St. Louis debut in a big way at a 280-seat space in Clayton. And from the “why didn’t we think of that?” file, there’s a new kiosk on the riverfront selling, among other kitschy delicacies (and you saw it here first), St. Louis-Style Toasted Ravioli Dogs.
