Editor’s Note: Only three closings this month but one was notable: after almost 30 years on the same corner in Clayton, Cardwell’s poured its last Budweiser on September 30. Among the 14 openings, the most whimsical was an ice cream shop opened on the Loop by a senior at UMSL. Snow Factory features both Thai ice cream (mixed on a cold plate then rolled) and Hong Kong egg waffle “bubble” cones (right), first time appearances for both in St. Louis.
