Two of the city’s most beloved eateries, Steve’s Hot Dogs and Balkan Treat Box, have joined forces to create a one-off special that’s available for one week only, beginning today
The Balkan Dog combines Balkan Treat Box’s signature pide flatbread with Steve’s signature smoked all-beef dog. The toppings include Balkan’s Ajvar and Kajmak sauces along with Steve’s relish and diced white onion. The garnish is a scatter of fresh herbs. The Balkan Dog is available from November 6–12 at Steve’s Hot Dogs (3145 S. Grand).

Thoughts of a collaboration between the two restaurants began long ago, though the relationship between the two was bolstered by their adjacent satellite locations at CITYPARK.
“Loryn and I go way back—like WAY back—and we’ve been talking about collaborating forever,” says Steve’s Hot Dogs chief growth officer Jeremy Robinson. “I was a huge fan of Balkan’s food truck from the beginning and keep a jar of their Ajvar Sauce in my fridge to this day. We’re stoked to have finally joined forces to create something so unique and delicious!”
Nalic added, “No better time to collaborate than after a season of working side by side at CITYPARK. It was a long time in the making, and we couldn’t be more excited about it. Really excited. We jumped right in!”
Balkan Treat Box is located at 8103 Big Bend in Webster Groves and at CITYPARK Stadium (Section 105). Steve’s Hot Dogs has locations at 3145 S. Grand, CITYPARK Stadium (Section 105), The Dome at America’s Center (Section 138), Enterprise Center (Portal 8). A fifth location, at the Maker’s Locale on Delmar, is slated to open next spring.
