Lion’s Choice celebrates 55 years in St. Louis on Wednesday with a bargain roast beef meal deal

The local fast-food chain will sell its original roast beef meal for $5.50 and give away a select number of “golden tickets” that include free roast beef for a year.

Roast beef fans, rejoice: St. Louis–based Lion’s Choice is celebrating its 55th anniversary in a big way.

“There aren’t too many companies in the restaurant world that can celebrate their 55th anniversary in the same market they originated from,” says Lion’s Choice president and CEO Michael Kupstas. “I think what’s really exciting about it is that it’s just proven the loyalty of our customer base.”

This Wednesday, October 26, the fast-food chain will be selling its original roast beef meal for $5.50. The meal includes a choice of sandwich (the original roast beef, oven-roasted turkey, or hickory smoked ham), fries, and a drink—usually priced at $9.89. Customers can find the link to the restaurant’s coupon on either its Instagram or Facebook pages.

In addition to the discounted meal, Lion’s Choice is giving away “golden tickets” to the 55th customer each day this week through Friday at randomly selected stores. Winners of the “golden ticket” will receive free roast beef for a year, a gift card valued at $250.

“[The community] has been nothing but incredibly supportive and exciting,” Kupstas says. “Lion’s Choice was born and basically defined in this market. People just love Lion’s Choice, and we don’t take their loyalty for granted.”

Kupstas is proud of the restaurant’s legacy, and he’s excited for the next 55 years. “There’s no telling where we go next,” he says, “but we do know that none of it is possible without the St. Louis community, our fans, and customers, who have supported us for all these years.”
