Rock Hill is heating up. On October 13, Chuck's Hot Chicken will officially open at 9816 Manchester, in the space previously occupied by bygone chicken joint St. Louis Wing Co. As previously reported, the restaurant will operate in a similar fashion to the other two metro area locations.
The Menu
Offerings revolve around freshly made, hand-breaded chicken strips and Nashville-style hot chicken sandwiches. Customers choose from six dipping sauces and their own heat-level preference, ranging from 0 to 4, with a fifth and sixth level reserved for masochists.
Sides and shareables include other Southern mainstays, such as coleslaw, potato salad, green beans, and French fries. Chicken and waffles are available from 11 a.m.–2 p.m. Saturdays and Sundays.
The Atmosphere
Seating is available inside, though space is limited to four wooden lacquer-topped picnic benches, which take up about half the space, A pickup counter fills much of the other half, while walk-in orders can be placed at two self-service kiosks.
The store will be open for dine-in, carry out, and delivery from 11 a.m.–7 p.m. Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, and Sunday, as well as from 11 a.m.–8 p.m. Friday and Saturday.
The Concept
“The Nashville hot chicken template has exploded across the country,” says franchisee operator Caleb Lavezzi. “It’s good food, it comes out quick, and people love it.”
Another franchise location is slated to open in west St. Louis County next year, and another is set to open in Wichita, Kansas, in January 2023.
