An Alice in Wonderland-themed pop-up cocktail experience is coming to St. Louis in late 2021. “The Alice” will debut in October at 5800 Gravois (Lemmons by Grbic is temporarily closed) and promises a “topsy-turvy cocktail adventure.”
The Alice is the latest immersive pop-up concept from an Australian company that has also run The Wizard’s Den, a sorcery-themed cocktail event, and Beyond Cinema, a series of experiential cinema screenings designed to make attendees feel like they’re part of the movie.
The Alice has already enjoyed sellout runs in both Sydney and Melbourne, and is now set to embark on a tour of cities across the United States. The Alice will arrive in St. Louis on October 6 and is slated to run through December 12 (although the run may be extended). Each 90-minute experience gives guests a chance to create two of their own bespoke cocktails, with The Mad Hatter supervising. However, before they can mix their drinks, attendees have to follow in Alice’s footsteps and solve a series of riddles and challenges.
The cocktails are only part of the fun, though, as attendees go through the looking glass to enter the world of Alice in Wonderland. The Alice brings scenes from Lewis Carroll’s novel to life, inviting guests to play croquet with flamingos and enjoy an “Eat Me” cake, among other fun activities.
The Alice experience costs $40 per person, which includes the cost of two cocktails and an “Eat Me” cake. Reservations can be made here.
