Selkirk Auctioneers & Appraisers moved from its Central West End location to a new building at 555 Washington in downtown St. Louis.
The new space, situated between the Missouri Athletic Club and The Blues Museum, and just steps from The Arch, is approximately sixty percent larger than the former building. Owner Jeff Jeffers says he hopes the new address will bring an elevated level of professionalism to the brand.

“It’s a historic and architecturally significant façade, and a marvelous gallery entertaining interior,” he says. “It’s got a great history and I believe really shows property, antiques, and art well. I would argue that objects look a little more important, and a little more staged in that space, than they did at our former location.”
The gallery’s enhanced aesthetic includes hardwood floors throughout, high ceilings, plenty of wall space, and an impressive overall size, all of which contribute to its sophisticated look and feel.
Jeffers says the Selkirk brand is committed to its St. Louis roots, both in the items that are sold and the customer service it provides to its clients.
“One of the hot trending categories in antiques and art today is regionalism, and there certainly are things that are St. Louis or Missouri specific that we are able to bring and turn around and sell,” he says.
The ambiance of the new location will enhance both the sellers’ and the buyers’ experience.
“Sellers want to sell their collection where it looks important, where it feels important, and our gallery can certainly do that,” Jeffers says.
