After dating for nearly a decade, an expectant couple celebrates their commitment

Ceremony & Reception: The couple tied the knot September 1, 2018, at St. Charles’ Foundry Art Centre. Flooded with natural light, the open space provided the perfect setting for natural hues and simple greenery. The bride’s grandmother shared words of wisdom, and the groom’s grandmother officiated. Guests enjoyed cocktails and food stations that included such local favorites as toasted ravioli and comfort food (notably a mashed potato bar and grilled cheese). The newlyweds and their daughter, Davina, kicked off an unforgettable dance party.

Nursery Story: After dating for nearly a decade—and pushing back a proposal when Erica became pregnant—DJ surprised Erica on her first Mother’s Day, while she was still expecting. A card from DJ assured Erica that she’d be a wonderful mother. She then found a second card in the nursery, “from” Davina, sharing how excited she was to meet her mommy—and containing a question nearly 10 years in the making, which Erica read before turning to see DJ down on one knee.
