The Armory is bringing Texas Country icons the Randy Rogers Band to St. Louis

Rogers says he plans to play the hits and keep the rambling to a minimum during the St. Louis stop on the band’s latest tour.

Randy Rogers isn’t a man that lives with many regrets, but when it comes to St. Louis, the singer/songwriter has one.

“I wish we could have played St. Louis a whole lot more throughout the years,” explains the lead singer of the Randy Rogers Band, the Texas Country icons scheduled to play Armory STL on March 23. “We are definitely looking forward to getting there and playing for our fans.”

It’s these Midwest fans that have long supported the hardworking band made up of Rogers, Geoffrey Hill (guitar), Jon Richardson (bass guitar), Brady Black (fiddle), Les Lawless (drums), and Todd Stewart (guitar, fiddle, mandolin, keyboards.)

Currently celebrating 20 years as a group, the Randy Rogers Band is best known for hard-hitting songs such as “Buy Myself A Chance” and “San Antone.” And while the group is currently touring in support of their groundbreaking recent album, Homecoming, Rogers says that fans have nothing to worry about—they’ll hear the hits.

The Randy Rogers Band has plenty of them, having released nine studio albums during their illustrious career. And while fans will get the chance to bask in the live versions of past favorites, they will also get to enjoy current hits such as “Fast Car,” which is currently in the Top 5 at Texas Country radio and recently debuted on the nationwide Country Aircheck/Mediabase Country radio chart.

What fans won’t hear is too much talking.

“I can’t stand when an artist gets up there and wants to tell the stories behind all of the songs,” Rogers says. “It’s one thing to do that for an acoustic show, but when it’s a full band show, fans are there to hear the music.”

And yes, Rogers himself remembers when he was the fan standing out in the crowd. “My first concert was probably seeing some Christian artist like Michael W. Smith or Stryper,” Rogers says with a laugh. “I remember what that time felt like, that’s for sure.”

And if he had more time, he would love to spend more of it in St. Louis.

“I love soaking a city up,” he says. “I love meeting people and learning about all the different cultures that make up the city. For me, there is nothing better than that.”

The Randy Rogers Band will play Armory STL on March 23 at 8 p.m. Doors at 6 p.m. Tickets are available at axs.com.
