At their Wednesday-night concert at Stifel Theatre, Elvis Costello & the Imposters, who were touring in support of new album Look Now, were up against some sound issues. The house speakers weren't working for a while, the band had to temporarily leave the stage, and, at one point, Costello picked up an acoustic guitar and played "Radio Radio" to save the mood. Favorites like "This Year’s Girl," "Watching the Detectives," and "Alison" helped. Ditto covers of Nina Simone’s "Don’t Let Me Be Misunderstood" and "(What's so Funny 'bout) Peace, Love, and Understanding" by Brinsley Schwarz. Miss the concert? Seek out Costello's new songs on Look Now anyway—Rolling Stone said the performer's "hit his mark, updating the emotional and musical possibilities behind some of the most beloved music of his great career."
