Two new stores opened at the Saint Louis Galleria this summer, bringing casual coastal style to landlocked St. Louisans. The new Tommy Bahama and Sperry Top-Sider stores are both the first of their kind in the metro area.
The Tommy Bahama store (1155 Saint Louis Galleria, 314-492-2252) opened on August 15, an appropriate day for the laidback brand since it was also National Relaxation Day. The new 3,300 square foot location offers a selection of the company’s island-inspired sportswear, swimwear, footwear, accessories, and home décor.
“St. Louis is a vibrant and exciting city, and we look forward to showing our guests how the relaxed state of mind they experience on vacation can be a part of everyday life,” said Joel Gardner, senior vice president of Tommy Bahama Retail.
Although the grand opening celebrations are over, stop by the store from 6 to 9 p.m. on Thursday, September 6 to celebrate Fashion’s Night Out, a global initiative started in 2009. During the event, guests can enjoy appetizers and mocktails while shopping. A limited-edition women’s scarf will also be available with a purchase of $50 or more during the event.
Earlier this summer, Sperry Top-Sider (1158 Saint Louis Galleria, 314-721-2758) also opened a location in St. Louis. The store sells a range of shoes for both men and women, which are the colorful and diverse descendants of the original boat shoe developed by avid boater Paul Sperry in 1935. The original shoe’s non-slip grip made it a staple of the U.S. Navy for many years. Today, that tradition continues through the company’s line of performance shoes for water sport athletes, including those on the U.S. Olympic Sailing Team.
Check out these two new stores to add a little bit of coastal class to your wardrobe all year long.
