During the forum on Thursday night, citizens voiced concerns to a panel of elected officials, including Treasurer Tishaura Jones, 15th Ward Alderwoman Megan Green, State Rep. Bruce Franks, and 5th Ward Committeeman Rasheen Aldridge.
Local residents applied to join a committee that offers input on the project, which will influence judges’ evaluation of the design entrants. Applications for the competition will be accepted until mid-November.
Demonstrators made the announcement on the steps of the municipal courts building following a silent protest in downtown St. Louis on Monday morning. Elsewhere, area students also staged protests.
