City dignitaries and casino execs threw a giant novelty light switch to light up Lumière’s distinctive green-glass tower, setting off the largest rooftop fireworks display in the city’s history. Guests flooded the downtown casino’s wavy 75,000-square-foot main thoroughfare, with its Frank Lloyd Wright–inspired architecture and Chihuly-esque glass chandeliers, as chef Hubert Keller personally served VIPs in his new Sleek lounge. When the facility opened to the public later in the evening, lines swelled to more than 200 deep, as patrons registered for player cards to take their first crack at Pinnacle’s newest floating palace.
