Apple pie is good. Apple pie that somebody gives you as a present is even better, particularly when it is a moist, lush deep-dish apple pie from The Smokehouse Market. One of many tempting sweets and savories at The Smokehouse, the apple pie is flavorful and tastes like it was made with care—which it was. You can get other types of pies—peach, pecan, even pumpkin during the fall—but the apple is perhaps the most satisfying. The bubbled, heavily cinnamon-sugared crust manages the neat trick of both flakiness and density, and the gooey filling of apples glues each forkful together. You might want to finish the whole pie in one sitting, but we don’t recommend it.
