April 25, 2016: Troy Brouwer’s goal 8:31 into the third period lifted the Blues to a 3-2 win in Game 7 of a dramatic Western Conference Round 1 series. The victory helped propel St. Louis to the conference finals for the first time since 2001.
April 17, 2014: The longest game in Blues playoff history ended when Alexander Steen beat Chicago goalie Corey Crawford for a goal 26 seconds into the third OT in Game 1 of the playoff series. St. Louis also won Game 2, but the Blackhawks stormed back to win four straight.
April 25, 1993: The Blues completed a four-game sweep in the semifinals when Craig Janney scored at 10:43 in overtime. Feeling that he had been interfered with, Blackhawks goalie Ed Belfour smashed his stick on the crossbar (twice) and later trashed the visitors’ locker room.
March 17, 1991: In a 6-4 Chicago victory that later would be called the St. Patrick’s Day Massacre, 12 players (six from each team) were ejected as the teams racked up a combined 278 penalty minutes. Three players—Scott Stevens and Kelly Chase of the Blues and Mike Peluso of Chicago—were suspended, and both teams were fined $10,000.
April 18–25, 2002: After losing the opening game of the 2002 Western Conference Playoffs, the Blues rebounded to win the next four—three of them shutouts by goalie Brent Johnson.
