Scottrade Center to be renamed Enterprise Center

The St. Louis Blues and the rental car company made the announcement this morning.

The home of the St. Louis Blues will soon have a new name: Enterprise Center.

It was announced today that Enterprise Holdings has entered into a 15-year naming-rights agreement with the Blues. The arena’s new name will go into effect July 1.

Scottrade Financial Services held the building’s naming rights since 2006, but it was not expected to retain the rights after the company was bought by TD Ameritrade last year, according to the St. Louis Post-Dispatch. The Blues had reportedly been looking for a naming right’s buyer since at least last October.

“This new partnership is a natural fit—the Blues and Enterprise are St. Louis originals,” Enterprise Holdings Foundation president Jo Ann Taylor Kindle said in a press release. “Last year we both celebrated milestone anniversaries in our hometown—50 years for the Blues and 60 years for Enterprise. St. Louis means a lot to our company—it’s where my family founded our business and where many of our employees and customers live and work. We’re excited to take our partnership with the Blues to this new level, and we look forward to the many memories to be made at Enterprise Center.”

Taylor Kindle and Enterprise Holdings’ executive chairman Andy Taylor are members of the Blues’ ownership group, which bought the team in 2012.

“This new agreement is yet another example of the Taylor family’s commitment to the Blues and to the entire St. Louis community,” St. Louis Blues chairman Tom Stillman said in a press release. “We are excited that the home of the Blues, and the site of so many high-profile sports and entertainment events, will soon be Enterprise Center.”

The name change comes following the first phase of building renovations, including new restrooms and concession stands, new LED lighting, and a new sound system. The second wave of improvements is slated to begin in mid-June.
