This St. Charles County adventure zone, which was formerly known as Youth Activity Park, boasts the largest outdoor skate park in the state and the largest pump track in the U.S. It’s the kind of place where kids of all skill levels are encouraged to experience new thrills on bikes, skates, scooters, and skateboards, while zooming around bowls, jumping off of ramps, and testing themselves against gravity. 7801 Town Square, Dardenne Prairie

Eureka Mountain Bike Park

For bikers ready to rough it, Eureka Mountain Bike Park offers seven trail systems suited for riders of all ages and abilities, including a dual slalom, directional trails ranging from beginner to intermediate, and a pump and jump track, among other trail types. Webster Groves Action Park

Webster Groves Action Park includes a skate park and a dedicated in-line skating rink. And, like many of the spots on this list, its facilities can be rented for private events. It’s also used by the Webster Groves Parks & Recreation Department to teach the safety on wheels segment of a summer safety camp for kids ages 4 to 6. 33 E. Glendale

Deer Creek Greenway

This trail runs from the Deer Creek Shopping Center at Big Bend to Lorraine Davis Park in Webster Groves, linking four parks along the way. It offers several entry points and routes of different lengths for young bicyclists of varying skill levels. Amenities also include a rocket-themed playground in Maplewood’s Deer Creek Park and a pump track at the Marshall Avenue trailhead in Webster Groves.

White Birch Park

One of the premier amenities in this 35.5-acre park operated by the city of Hazelwood is a dual-purpose BMX bike/ skate park for young riders who desire a more extreme experience. After getting their fix on wheels, guests can visit the eSports Lounge in the Hazelwood Community Center that’s adjacent to the skate park. 1186 Teson

St. Charles Skateboard Park

At 13,000 square feet, this park features three interconnected bowls for experienced skaters, and a streetscape course with obstacles suitable for nearly all skill levels. The facility is part of Fountain Lakes Park, which also includes options for hiking, biking, and fishing. 3740 Huster

Jefferson Barracks Park

Jefferson Barracks Park includes an easy out-and-back section of the Mississippi Greenway for kids to explore, and the relatively short, paved trails inside the park make for easy riding. 345 North Road

Sylvan Springs Park 

Families looking for a little more than the usual trails should head to this St. Louis County green space to take advantage of the skate park, which caters to kids on skateboards, BMX bikes, scooters, and rollerblades. 300 Halsey

Paul A. Westhoff Park

The Westhoff Plaza Skate and BMX Complex offers obstacles such as grind rails and ledges, a quarter pipe, and a six-foot bowl. The facility is part of O’Fallon’s 65-acre Paul A. Westhoff Park, which also includes Brendan’s Playground, an all-inclusive playground. 810 Sheppard Drive, O’Fallon
