After a brief hiatus, the Spirit of St. Louis Air Show & STEM Expo will return to Chesterfield this weekend—and in a big way. This year's headliners include the U.S. Navy's popular Blue Angels and the Canadian Forces Snowbirds.
“It’s not often that those teams perform at the same place,” says Paul Guse, a spokesperson for Boeing, one of the event’s primary sponsors and the manufacturer of the F/A-18 Hornet flown by both demonstration teams.

This year marks important milestones for both Boeing and the Blue Angels. It's the flight team's 70th anniversary, while the aerospace company is celebrating its centennial. Historic and modern Boeing aircraft will be on display, alongside planes manufactured by McDonnell Douglas and Lockheed Martin, among others. That's not to mention military vehicles, robotics, and military dog demonstrations.
With interactive exhibits, the STEM Expo will inform kids of all ages about science, technology, engineering, and math—helping inspire a new generation of innovators. “The tie between STEM and that aviation expertise is a really good match,” says Guse.
More than 50,000 attendees are expected to attend the air show, so plan to arrive well before the air performances begin at 11:15 a.m.
The event runs from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on May 14 and 15 at Spirit of St. Louis Airport in Chesterfield. General admission is $25 per day at the gate and $20 in advance; kids 6 and under and active members of the military with proper ID get in free.Click here for more information about the event.
