Urban Chestnut Brewing Company
Urban Chestnut Brewing Company, Missouri’s third largest craft brewery, announced Friday that it now distributes its beer throughout Kansas. Before now, beer-loving Kansas had to cross the state line into Kansas City, Missouri, to sample the popular St. Louis microbrewery’s brew.
“Ever since we began distribution in KCMO, we had been looking to sell our beers on the other side of the state line,” said brewery co-founder David Wolfe. “But once we started the process we realized how great craft beer market is in the entire state of Kansas, so we decided to go that route.”

Urban Chestnut started distributing to Kansas City and Chicago two years ago, around the time it opened its second St. Louis location, the Urban Chestnut Grove Brewery & Bierhall. Last year, the company opened a third brewery in Germany called the Urban Chestnut Hallertauer Brauerei.
Urban Chestnut chose Kansas Craft Alliance to distribute its beers in the Sunflower State.
“We are extremely proud to bring Urban Chestnut Brewing Company and their amazing portfolio to Kansas,” says Jerrod Nelsen, brand development manager for the KCA, in a statement. “Representing a great partner like Urban Chestnut is an honor and we are excited for consumers to enjoy UCBC throughout the state.”
Urban Chestnut is also planning a new pilot brewery, the Urban Research Brewery, for this summer.
