If you’re a fan of The Experience Booklet or getting deals at local businesses, then you might be interested in new additions for the summer 2021 collection. What started in 2019 with offers at some of the region’s hottest restaurant and retail spots has expanded to include businesses in Alton and St. Charles. It’s also dipping into specialty booklets to feed daily cravings.
The Experience Booklet is a coupon book that serves as a city passport to small businesses across the metro area. Each book offers discounts and deals at participating businesses. For instance, there are such deals as two-for-one pitchers of frozen margaritas at Taco Buddha, a free wine pairing with an entrée at Yellowbelly, two-for-one cold-brew coffees at AO&Co., and a free slice of gooey butter cake at Yolklore, as well as retail offers like a free day pass at Climb So Ill, a free St. Louis art print with any purchase of a Katie Donovan print at Union Studio, and more.

There are six booklet options, with each being $25, two for $45, three for $60, or all six for $110:
- Cocktails + Dinner + Dessert (43 participating businesses)
- Coffee + Pastries + Brunch (42)
- Retail + Swag + Lifestyle (42)
- Nothing But Cocktails (25)
- Nothing But Beer & Wine (32)
- Nothing But Coffee (42)
The Nothing But series of booklets are new this season. They offer a more targeted collection of offers but more opportunities to save money. If you purchase the Coffee + Pastries + Brunch booklet, for instance, you’ll receive a coupon to use at any Kaldi’s location; if you purchase the Nothing But Coffee booklet instead, you’ll get a coupon to use at each Kaldi’s St. Louis location for a total of nine Kaldi’s coupons.

“This is all for small businesses,” says Jordan Bauer, founder of The Experience Book and @stlouisgram on Instagram. “We created this two years ago to help get more people in the doors of local businesses. Then 2020 hit, and that mission became more important than ever. It’s free for businesses to participate, and they’re offering some great deals to customers [through the booklets]. It’s a win for everyone.”
Bauer noted that this season’s offers have expanded geographically to include such businesses as Old Bakery Beer Company in Alton and Picasso’s Coffee in St. Charles.
The Summer 2021 Experience Booklets are currently for sale online, with the deals available through September 30.
