The Fountain on Locust team to open Conefection at Wash Ave Food Hall

The new dessert counter will serve colorful cones, scratchmade toppings, and ice cream from Wisconsin’s Cedar Crest

The team behind The Fountain on Locust is bringing a new ice cream concept to Wash Ave Food Hall. Conefection will join the lineup of founding vendors at 1122 Washington Avenue when the food hall opens, currently anticipated next month.

Owned by Danni and Marcus Eickenhorst and Jeremy Robinson, COO of HuSTL Hospitality, Conefection will take some of The Fountain’s signature features—scratchmade hot fudge, real whipped cream, and Cedar Crest ice cream—and serve them in a quicker, more portable format. Flavor-infused cones, warm sauces, candied garnishes, and a little edible gold dust are part of the mix that will turn a simple ice cream cone into a memorable treat.

The opening menu includes Main Squeeze, which pairs vanilla ice cream and orange marmalade in an Orange Dreamsicle cone; Zanzibar in the Dark, featuring dark chocolate ice cream, hot fudge, and gold dust in a lavender cone; and Up, Up & Away, a combination of Superman ice cream, marshmallow cream, and rainbow sprinkles in a pink vanilla cone. Guests will also be able to build their own single- or double-scoop cones, order shakes and root beer floats, or enjoy a simple dish of premium ice cream.

Danni Eickenhorst tells SLM that “HuSTL Hospitality is continuing to pivot into spaces that support their community-oriented vision, like this massive investment in Downtown,” referring to the Wash Ave Food Hall..

“Being just blocks from the Convention Center, we’re excited that Conefection – and our other concept Steve’s Smash – may be someone’s first taste of St. Louis. Conefection is a slightly more playful, quick service version of what we do at The Fountain on Locust – same amazing ice cream brought in weekly from a Wisconsin dairy, same scratch made ingredients, but focused around scoops and cones.”

Conefection is the latest vendor announced for Wash Ave Food Hall, which is also set to include Steve’s Smash, Little BAO, Maci’s Prime BBQ, and Detroit-inspired Troit. At least one more vendor announcement is expected before the planned opening.
