Sugarfire Smokehouse honors National BBQ Day with tri-tip sandwich giveback special

From May 16 through the end of the month, Sugarfire Smoke House will donate funds from the sale of the menu special to Operation BBQ Relief.

Beginning tomorrow, May 16, National Barbecue Day, all Sugarfire Smoke House corporate locations will begin offering tri-tip sandwich giveaways and specials, with proceeds going toward Operation BBQ Relief.

The tri-tip special can be ordered on a combo platter, a sandwich, or any salad. (Tri-tip is a sirloin cut of thinly sliced beef.) “Tri-tip is becoming a barbecue staple,” says Sugarfire spokesperson Clarie Bulawsky, “It’s a product they’re excited about and wanted to introduce. And what better time than National Barbecue Day?”

For National Barbecue Day, all Sugarfire corporate locations will also give away free 6-ounce rib rubs and $15 gift certificates to the first 50 customers who purchase a tri-tip item.

On Tuesday, Sugarfire’s corporate locations will donate 100 percent of tri-tip special sales to Operation BBQ Relief, a nonprofit that delivers the comfort of barbecue food to communities in need and works toward fighting hunger in the United States. Then, throughout the rest of the month while supplies last, Sugarfire will donate a percentage of tri-tip special sales to the nonprofit.

“This cause is incredibly important to our team,” Mike Johnson, co-owner and founder of Sugarfire, said in a release. “As a business in the Midwest, we have seen the devastation of these storms firsthand. We hope everyone comes out to eat some delicious barbecue and help give back to a great cause!”
