St. Louis restaurant openings, closings, and coming soons: September 2019

The following list is accurate as of a late September press date. A condensed version will be published in SLM‘s November 2019 issue.

Editor’s Note: While we were saddened that one of the city’s better sushi joints quietly bid farewell this month (BaiKu Sushi Lounge), the real punch to the gut was the equally surprising closing of 808 Maison, one of the best new restaurants never to gain any traction. September brought a few significant relocations (with both Mac’s Local Eats and Taco Circus moving into larger spaces), and a long-awaited sister store (Nudo House in the East Loop), but it was a relatively quiet month for openings, with the something-for-everybody St. Louis Union Station Soda Fountain (pictured above) welcoming visitors in a big, bold, sweet way before September’s last ‘all aboard.’
