Tower Grove Farmers’ Market

  • Dates: Saturdays, April 7–November 7; Tuesdays, May 5-September 29

  • Location: West of Center Cross Drive
  • About: The flagship of the St. Louis area farmers’ market scene, TGFM features live music, ample dog watching, a food court, and, of course, fresh produce and baked goods.
  • Insider Tip: Kim Winn Yoga hosts drop-in yoga classes every Saturday at 9:30 a.m.

Soulard Farmers’ Market

  • Dates: Year-round on Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, and Saturday
  • Hours: 8 a.m.–5 p.m.
  • Location: 730 Carroll
  • About: The historic market offers a wide variety of local products, such as spices, floral arrangements, warm baked goods, meats, and produce.
  • Insider Tip: Donut Man Stan, maker of delicious mini-donuts and a market vendor since 1979, is essential Soulard Market eating.

U City Farmers Market

  • Dates: Saturdays, weekly through November 21; and Thursdays, weekly through October 1.
  • Hours: 8:30 a.m.–12:30 p.m. on Saturdays; 4–7 p.m. on Thursdays
  • Location: 7210 Olive, in Heman Park near Centennial Commons with parking free in the adjacent lots
  • About: Missouri and Illinois farmers come together to sell their products like fresh produce, cheeses, eggs, fish, meat, jams, artisan specialties, and more.
  • Insider Tip: Highlights include the weekly music series, chef demonstrations and tastings, and engaging kids’ activities.

S.O.L. Food Farmers Market (Formerly Schlafly Farmers’ Market)

  • Dates: Wednesdays, May through October.
  • Hours: 4–6:30 p.m.

  • About: With a mix of local and seasonal produce, coffee, fiber crafts, and music, this farmers’ market brings community and families together on Wednesday afternoons.
  • Insider Tip: Head there early to grab a cup of coffee at Living Room Coffee & Kitchen before shopping.

Ferguson Farmers Market

  • Dates: Saturdays, May–October

  • About: Fresh fruits and veggies are picked within 24 hours of the market and are coupled with live music, a family-friendly atmosphere, and an array of speciality vendors.
  • Insider Tip: Live music and special events make for a festive atmosphere.

Kirkwood Farmers’ Market

  • Dates: Daily, March 28–October.
  • Hours: 9:30 a.m.–6 p.m. Monday–Friday, 8 a.m.–5 p.m. Saturday, 10 a.m.-5 p.m. Sunday.
  • Location: 150 E. Argonne
  • About: The popular market has been a mainstay of downtown Kirkwood for 50 years. Look for specialty vendors as well as traditional fresh produce. On Saturdays through August 1st, enjoy a special vendors market with live music, food trucks and more.
  • Insider Tip: Don’t miss the seasonal Pumpkin Patch from October 1–31.

Lake St. Louis Farmers’ & Artists’ Market

  • Dates: Saturdays, April 4–October 31.
  • Hours: 8 a.m.–noon
  • Location: Meadows Circle
  • About: At the producer-only market, visitors can shop for locally grown produce, flowers, herbs, meat, freshly baked bread, cinnamon rolls, and family-made hot tamales.
  • Insider Tip: Check out the incredible pastries from French expat and pastry chef Jonathan Dendauw.

Wildwood Farmers’ Market

  • Dates: Saturdays, May 23–October 3
  • Hours: 8 a.m.–noon
  • Location: 221 Plaza
  • About: In addition to all of the traditional farmers’ market offerings, it offers prepared food items, such as olive oils, honey, and pickles, as well as smoothies and hot tamales.
  • Insider Tip: Keep an eye on the market’s Facebook page for when Nate Bonner of NKB is on hand to sharpen your knives on site.

Land of Goshen Community Market

  • Dates: Saturdays, May 9 through October 17
  • Hours: 8 a.m.–noon
  • Location: Intersection of St. Louis Street and North Main Street, Edwardsville
  • About: With a focus on quality products, the market is the Metro East’s go-to for fresh, seasonal ingredients and arts and crafts from local vendors.
  • Insider Tip: Kiddos can learn more about fresh local produce through the Market Sprouts program.

The Boulevard Market

  • Dates: Sundays, May 3–October 25
  • Hours: 9 a.m.–1 p.m.
  • Location: The Boulevard in Richmond Heights
  • About: If you want to experience the quality of Tower Grove Farmers Market without the scene, this more low-key, Sunday alternative features equally impressive produce and crafts from local farmers and entrepreneurs.
  • Insider Tip: Unlike its very dog-friendly sister market in Tower Grove Park, the county doesn’t allow dogs at the market, so leave Fido at home.

Arnold Farmers Market

  • Dates: Saturdays, May 2-October 31.
  • Hours: 8 a.m.–noon
  • Location: Arnold City Park, 2400 Bradley Beach, Arnold
  • About: The market offers more than 40 vendors, with plenty of opportunities to shop for veggies, eggs, and meats, in addition to enjoying breakfast.
  • Insider Tip: There are a variety of speciality markets throughout the seasons, such as the Strawberry Market. Stay updated through their Facebook page.

North City Farmers’ Market

  • Dates: Saturdays, late May through early October.
  • Hours: 9:30 a.m.–noon
  • Location: 2714 N. 13th Street
  • About: With a mission to help provide North St. Louis with fresh and affordable food, the market not only offers produce but also free health screenings and healthy cooking demonstrations.
  • Insider Tip: After you’re finished shopping, stop into the century-old institution, Crown Candy Kitchen, for a malt and a BLT.

Alton Farmers and Artisans’ Market

  • Dates: Saturdays, May 9–October 17
  • Hours: 8 a.m.–noon
  • Location: Corner of Landmarks Boulevard and Henry Street in downtown Alton
  • About: Shoppers can find seasonally grown fruits and vegetables from over 80 vendors, as well as local honey, hot and iced coffee, flowers, plants, honey, baked goods, and bread. Also available are pottery, stained glass, and handmade soaps.
  • Insider Tip: Hot and iced coffee available, artist demonstrations, live entertainment, kid activities, and themed days.

One Africa Farmers’ Market

  • Dates: June 6, July 11, August 8, September 5, October 24
  • Hours: 10 a.m.–3 p.m.
  • Location: 4007 West Florissant.
  • About: With a mission to help Black farmers and ranchers, the market focuses on Caribbean and African-inspired flavors, cooking styles, food, and entertainment.
  • Insider Tip: There are live performances from local artists, rappers, poets, and other dynamic speakers, as well as food demonstrations representing cultures from the Caribbean to Africa.

Fenton Community & Farmers’ Market

  • Dates: Thursday evenings, May 14 through September 24
  • Hours: 4:30 p.m.–7 p.m.
  • Location: Meramec Greenway Shelter at Fenton City Park (995 Larkin Williams)
  • About: Locally grown produce, prepared food, flowers, baked goods and handmade crafts.
  • Insider Tip: Enjoy live music the first and third Thursdays of the month.

Rockwell Beer Garden Farmers’ Market in Francis Park

  • Dates: Thursdays, May 7–September 24
  • Hours: 4-7 p.m.
  • Location: Francis Park, 5300 Donovan (corner of Donovan and Eichelberger)
  • About: A satellite market from the folks behind Tower Grove Farmers’ Market, this South City gem is a more intimate version of its Saturday flagship.
  • Insider Tip: Enjoy beer and pizza from the adjacent Rockwell Beer Garden.

New Melle Country Market

  • Dates: April 25-late October.
  • Hours: 8 a.m.–1 p.m.
  • Location: 150 West Highway D (St. Paul’s Lutheran Church).
  • About: This volunteer-run nonprofit market focuses on a farm-to-family approach. The country market encourages volunteer work and invites prospective vendors. Fall festivals are frequent, bringing local beer and food trucks to the market.
  • Insider Tip: All vendors are welcome, regardless of what they offer.

Point Labadie Farmers Market

  • Dates: Thursdays, May through October.
  • Hours: 4:30–7:30 p.m
  • Location: 1029 Thiebes, Labadie.
  • About: Find market staples like perennials, fresh fruits and vegetables and cheeses.
  • Insider Tip: The market is located on the grounds of Point Labaddie Brewery; stop in for a pint when you’re finished browsing the market.

St. Charles Market

  • Dates: Saturdays, April 25–November 28
  • Hours: 7:30 a.m.–1:00 p.m.
  • Location: Main Street Between Clark and Monroe Streets.
  • About: A beloved St. Charles tradition, the market features fresh produce, foods, beverages and arts and crafts in the lovely historic Main Street district.
  • Insider Tip: Look for specialty markets throughout the season, including a strawberry market, a tomato market and more.

Vine Street Market at O’Fallon Station

  • Dates: Weekly season Saturdays, May 9 – Oct. 17
  • Hours: 8 a.m.–noon
  • Location: 212 E. 1st Street, O’Fallon, IL
  • About: More than 50 vendors from a 100-mile radius offering meat, cheeses, eggs, produce, baked goods, plants, crafts and more. Live music 9 a.m. to noon, demonstrations, food, and more.
  • Insider Tip: Enjoy live music and food trucks at this festive affair.

Swansea Farmers Market

  • Dates: Thursdays, May 7 through Oct. 29
  • Hours: 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
  • Location: Rural King parking lot, 2801 N. Illinois St., Swansea, IL
  • About: 25 to 30 vendors offering produce, herbs and plants, jams, jellies, soap, lotions, crafts and more.
  • Insider Tip: JG King 3D Printing is one of the market’s most unique vendors.

Highland Farmers Market

  • Dates: Tuesdays, May 5 – Sept. 29
  • Hours: 4 to 7 p.m.
  • Location: Downtown Highland Square, 914 Main Street, Highland, IL
  • About: Two dozen vendors sell local vegetables, meat, eggs, cheese, dairy products, baked goods, jams, salsa, soap, candles and woodwork.
  • Insider Tip: Pet treats are available, as well.

Market on McPherson

  • Dates: Last Sunday of every month, beginning March 29.
  • Hours: 10 a.m.-2 p.m.
  • Location: Corner of Euclid and McPherson in the Central West End.
  • About: Founded this year by neighbors and business owners, this brand-new boutique market features vendors from throughout the CWE.
  • Insider Tip: Constance Steinkamp of Central West End yoga has been offering free classes at the market at 10 a.m.
