Renowned distiller Steve Beam to host Yellowstone bourbon tasting events this weekend

The events take place Friday evening at City Foundry STL in Midtown, Saturday afternoon at Dogwood Social House in Ellisville, and Sunday afternoon at Tilles Park in Ladue.

Bourbon is full of both characters and history. This weekend is your chance to meet someone with no shortage of both.

Seventh-generation master distiller Stephen Beam hails from not one but two renowned Kentucky distilling families: the Beams and the Dants. As master distiller of Lebanon, Kentucky-based Limestone Branch Distillery, Beam worked with St. Louis–based Luxco in 2015 to revive the Yellowstone Bourbon brand, which was started in 1872 by his ancestor Joseph Bernard Dant.

Yellowstone Bourbon turns 150 years old this year, and Beam recently hit the road on a multi-city tour to celebrate the occasion. This weekend, he wraps up his road tour with three stops in St. Louis.

This Friday, September 23, Beam will preside over a Yellowstone pop-up event at the Food Hall at City Foundry STL from 5–8 p.m. On Saturday, September 24, you can find him in Ellisville, signing bottles of Yellowstone Select bourbon at Dogwood Social House from noon–4 p.m. And on Sunday afternoon, he’ll be at Tilles Park in Ladue from 11 a.m.–3 p.m. during the APA Canine Carnival. (The tour, as it turns out, isn’t all about bourbon and history—Beam is also passionate about shelter dogs, as evidenced by his co-pilots, Case and Char.) At this ticketed event, pets and owners are invited to enjoy the day, enjoy some bourbon (owners 21 years old and up only) and help the APA in its efforts to help shelter pets find their forever homes. Tickets are available here.

And if you can’t make it out to meet Beam, a bottle of Yellowstone pairs well with a certain TV show that shares the same name.
