After three and a half years in business, Christy Augustin’s Pint Size Bakery is moving to 3133 Watson Road, less than a mile from its original location (at 3825 Watson).
The 750 SF footprint was part of its charm, but quickly became a detriment. “We made so many friends so quickly,” Augustin explained. “We got to know their cars and their kids…but had so many regular customers that we were unable to do many special orders, like their birthday cakes.” With the move, that should no longer be a problem.

“Honestly, I’ve been looking to move for almost two years,” Augustin said, “and could have if I wanted to leave the neighborhood…but I didn’t.”

The former Dr. Tom’s Vacuum store is 1820 SF, over twice the size of the existing space. (And we know what you’re thinking and the answer is no, the name will not change to Quart Size Bakery.) The new space will, however, allow for a small dining area as well as more parking.
Augustin says that demolition should begin this month and the move could be completed as early as March 2016, hopefully by St. Patrick’s Day, she said. If that happens, perhaps some cookie shamrocks are in order…joining the ranks of muffins, upside down and mini bundt cakes, fruit tarts, and everybody’s favorite, oatmeal cream pies.
