Old Bakery Beer and Flourish Farmstead are joining the trend of nonalcoholic beverage alternatives with a new herbal tea line: Herbarium, which is vegan and sugar- and-gluten-free.
The two businesses started selling two flavors: the citrusy and floral Lavender Lemongrass and the tart and spicy Ginger Roselle. “Everyone seems to really love it,” Old Bakery co-owner Lauren Pattan says. “It’s just a really great afternoon pick-me-up."
Flourish focuses on growing the herbs for the tea, while Old Bakery Beer brews it. The two groups meet to smell herbs to make small batches of tea, so they can perfect the blends.

It's the latest chapter in the two companies' partnership. Old Bakery has worked with Flourish Farmstead's Crystal and Eric Stevens on a variety of projects over the years, notes Pattan. “Our collaboration will grow with them even more over the coming years,” Pattan says. “They’ll be able to plan in advance how much they need to grow and what herbs we want to work with...and that will help us branch out into more seasonal varieties.”
Crystal Stevens concurs: “We look forward to continuing to work with Old Bakery Beer’s team on more flavor combinations in the future.”
