Vegan Ba'nilla Puddin' - Clementine's banana coconut ice cream with bits of chocolate-covered vanilla wafers
Clementine’s Naughty & Nice Ice Cream has debuted five new “dairy-free-licious” flavors in honor of Veganuary, a movement begun last year by the same-named organization to encourage more people to eat plant-based products during the month of January.
The new vegan flavors, all of which have a coconut base, include:
- Ba’Nilla Puddin’: a Southern-inspired banana-coconut ice cream sprinkled with bits of chocolate-covered vanilla wafers
- White Chocolate Macadamia Cookie: white chocolate ice cream with Lenny & Larry’s white chocolate macadamia nut cookies folded in
- Blueberry Crumble: blueberry ice cream with blueberries and sprinkles of gluten-free rolled oat crumble
- Strawberry Crunch: strawberry ice cream with slices of strawberries, a hint of orange, and house-made organic and gluten-free cornflake clusters
- Peanut Butter Chocolate Chip Cookie: peanut butter ice cream mixed with Lenny & Larry’s chocolate chip cookies

These five new flavors join the three signature vegan flavors regularly offered at Clementine’s--Lemon Poppyseed, Coconut Chocolate Fudge, and Tahini Chocolate Chip--which means that for the month of January, you can enjoy a different flavor every night of the week with an extra to spare. The Peanut Butter Chocolate Chip has been the most popular flavor, making it difficult to get as a scoop (pints are available), followed by the Ba’Nilla Puddin’, which is heaven in a spoon.
In a blind taste test, one would be hard pressed to tell the difference between Clementine’s plant-based and dairy-based ice creams, based on flavor and texture. Unlike Dry January, the movement that relies on cutting something out of your diet, Veganuary allows you to add something delicious that is better for the planet. New year, new you; more ice cream, less guilt.
The five new flavors are available through January in scoops and pints at all of Clementine’s locations, except Kirkwood, which just has pints, and through their online store.
