The word “biggest” has many connotations for a restaurant: sheer size, number of seats (whether or not patio seats are included), biggest as in gross sales, biggest number of guests served… how you define a restaurant, etc. For this discussion, biggest refers to the restaurant’s square footage and number of seats. Here are some of the contenders, starting off with two where the food component is not the primary focus, but included mainly for their sheer size.

Sports & Social St. Louis: 7,000 square feet

Fast Eddie’s Bon Air should probably figure into this mix somewhere: 30,000 square feet (inside and out) translates into space for 1,000 guests.
