Beginning July 11 and running through mid-August, Edera executive chef Andrew Simon (along with his “sous chef” daughter, Lyla) are teaming up with other local chefs and restaurant owners (and their kids) to create a different special pizza each week to be sold at Edera, with proceeds donated to the guest chef’s charity of choice.

Simon told FOX2’s Randi Naughton that he came up with the idea after his daughter helped him at a culinary event. Because chefs and restaurant owners are away from their kids so often, he thought it would be a good idea to cook something with their kids for a purpose. Every Monday, the respective kids come to Edera to help with production. The featured pizzas and pizza chefs are:

July 11–15: Half & Half pizza, created by Mark Hinkle and his daughters, Maddie and Annie. Hinkle is the co-owner of O+O Hospitality Group. Proceeds will benefit the Ollie Hinkle Heart Foundation.

July 18–23: Breakfast pizza, created by Mary Boehne and her daughter, Margot. Boehne is chef/co-owner of Yolklore. Proceeds will benefit The Gateway Area MS Foundation.

July 25–30: Four-cheese pizza (mozzarella, buffalo mozzarella, taleggio, shaved black pepper BellaVitano cheese), created by Daniel Poss and his daughter, Jayla. Poss is the new executive chef at Juniper. Proceeds will benefit Close The Workhouse.

August 1–6: Pepperoni pizza, created by Michael Gallina and his daughter, Olivia. Gallina is the co-owner of Take Root Hospitality, the ownership group behind Vicia, Winslow’s Table, Taqueria Morita STL, and Bistro La Floraison. Proceeds will benefit Nurses for Newborns.

August 8–13: Pepperoni and honey pizza, with red sauce and oregano, created by Nate Hereford and his son, Ben. Hereford owns Chicken Scratch at City Foundry STL. Proceeds will benefit St. Jude Children’s Hospital.
