After 15 years of serving soups, sandwiches, salads, and snacks to the workers and shoppers at Plaza Frontenac, the St. Louis Sippery & Cafe will be moving to a plum location in Chesterfield (at 161 Long Rd, a corner bay at the corner of Long and Edison roads). Manager Valarie Yaffe informs Relish today that "it was time to take The Sippery to the next level, and that was not feasible at Plaza Frontenac," emphasizing "there is absolutely nothing wrong there, though, we just felt it was the right time to grow."
And grow they will.
At 4000 SF, the new location will be double the size of the old and will allow for more options. "We will have breakfast all day," says Yaffe, "and a retail area in front," which translates to menu items being available for grab-and-go. The service will be fast-casual, just as before.
The closing of the Frontenac store will coincide with the opening of the new. Look for all that to take place in early summer.
Coincidental sidebar: It's full-speed ahead for the new 12,000 SF out-building at the north end of Plaza Frontenac. Two of its tenants will be St. Louis Bread Company and BrickTop's, an attractive, 4-unit mid/upper-priced chain based in Nashville. The BreadCo is scheduled to open in September, BrickTop's by Thanksgiving.
