The website is up to date, the menus for all 28 participating restaurants are posted—yet the 6th Annual Downtown Restaurant Week event is not for another month: Monday, August 23 through Sunday, August 29, 2010.
Anyone who’s ever tried to wheedle a menu, or a recipe–or even a return phone call–from a chef can appreciate the organization required to post this kind of information so far in advance, but DRW is a shot in the wallet–and chefs/restaurant owners know it. They know if they miss the organizer’s deadline they’re out of luck. And the last thing they want is a week-long sentence of being forced to endure a bustling restaurant across the street when theirs is, well, much less so.
