St. Louis clothing company The Normal Brand announced on their Instagram this week that they’ve raised $125,000 to put toward media company Barstool Sports’ Barstool Fund, which helps small businesses affected by COVID-19.

The brothers behind The Normal Brand, Jimmy, Lan, and Conrad Sansone, partnered with country singer Luke Combs to sell $30 Combs-themed hats, with all profits donated to the fund. Led by Barstool president Dave Portnoy, the Barstool Fund encourages small business owners to submits their stories in an application to be considered for economic aid. So far, the fund has raised $36,232,086 and helped more than 300 businesses.

The Sansone brothers were inspired to contribute after hearing that Seibert’s, a small Indiana store that carries their products, was able to stay in business after being selected to receive aid from Barstool.

The Normal Brand, which sells both men’s and women’s attire, first launched in 2015, after Jimmy sought out a versatile and comfortable shirt. The brand has since garnered national attention, is sold in stores around the globe, and has a brick-and-mortar in Clayton’s Colonial Marketplace (8809 Ladue).

“As a small business, to be able to help in a little way is the most rewarding experience of our company’s existence,” the brothers wrote in their post.
