Juno Bridal to open in the Central West End

The “modern meets boho” bridal shop carries six designers exclusive to the St. Louis area.

“Modern meets boho” is how Claire Ketterer describes her new bridal boutique, Juno Bridal (4430 Olive), which will open in the Central West End on February 25.

Ketterer was inspired to open the boutique after going wedding dress shopping with her engaged sister. She had recently moved back to her hometown of St. Louis after living in California for a few years, and the shopping experience left her disappointed with the selection of dresses available in the area.

“I just started looking online and finding the dresses that I would like,” she says. “When I realized none of those designers were in St. Louis yet, I thought it would be a good opportunity to start a business.”

After a lot of online research and a trip to New York, Ketterer chose six wedding dress designers to carry at the shop: Alyssa Kristin, Daalarna, Daughters of Simone, Olia Zavozina, Theia, and Truvelle. She says all six are exclusive to Juno Bridal in the St. Louis area.

The boutique carries off-the-shoulder styles, backless dresses, and dresses that incorporate colors other than white or ivory. Many of the dresses also feature elaborate embroidery, vintage-inspired lace details, or flowy bohemian fabrics. Although there’s a lot of variety, the one thing all the dresses have in common is that they “steer away from the traditional wedding dress styles,” she says.

A majority of the dresses at Juno Bridal range in price between $1,500 and $3,000, and many of them are customizable.

“You can change the neckline, the color, the length of the train,” Ketterer says. “If you like the top on one of the dresses but the skirt on a different one, they’ll mix and match and combine to make the bride’s perfect dress.”

Juno Bridal will typically be open by appointment only, although Ketterer is planning an open house from 3–6 p.m. on March 4 so that brides-to-be can stop by to check out the shop.
