See inside Citizen Park, the Central West End’s newest luxury apartments

The development brings a “modern building to an old, historic neighborhood,” says Joe Downs, vice president of the company that built the luxury apartment complex.

A new luxury apartment complex in the Central West End brings “a modern building to an old, historic neighborhood,” according to Joe Downs, vice president of real estate development for Opus Development Company.

Citizen Park Luxury Apartments (4643 Lindell, 314-269-1868), which opened May 5, includes 217 one- and two-bedroom units, with features like floor-to-ceiling windows, large closets, stainless steel appliances, and granite countertops. Some of the penthouse suites on the top two floors also have wraparound balconies—a few even have views of the Arch.

Dean Newins, senior vice president of architecture at Opus AE Group, says he loves the floor-to-ceiling windows. “The daylight comes into the building,” he says. “When you’re in the residential spaces, it allows you to be part of the outside. It just feels to welcoming and engaging.”

The 12-story building also features shared amenities: a pool deck with an outdoor grilling space, a club room, a state-of-the-art fitness center, and three levels of underground parking.

“The common amenity spaces are extremely vibrant,” Downs says. “People like to get out of their apartments and hang out together.”

Citizen Park also has retail spaces on the ground floor, which the team is working to fill. Plus, the complex is a short walk from the Central West End’s many shops and restaurants.

“People already want to be here,” Downs says. “As real estate developers, we were able to get a great corner location with a lot of activity around it and collaborate with the neighborhood association to create something that really brings the best of the community and advances it in a modern-looking way.”

Rent ranges from $1,450 per month for a 545-square-foot unit to $5,200 per month for a 1,918-square-foot penthouse suite. Downs says approximately 20 percent of the apartments have already been rented.
