Trade professionals flock to the Tarheel State for the opportunity to shop more than 2,000 exhibitors’ booths. As the largest furnishings trade show in the world, High Point Market boosts the headcount in its namesake hometown by more than 75,000 twice a year.
The Atlanta International Gift & Home Furnishings Market
Atlanta; January 9–16 and July 10–17, 2018
Atlanta’s AmericasMart has year-round exhibitors who offer industry pros everything from outdoor furniture to gourmet goodies.
The trade-only January and July markets, which feature major rug markets, encompass goods from 8,000 to 9,000 brands. New products share space with antiques, including offerings from 75 of the top antique dealers in the country.
International Home + Housewares Show
Chicago; March 10–13, 2018
This trade-only show draws more than 56,000 attendees and 2,200 exhibitors each year for the latest in home and kitchen products. Recent offerings have included humidifiers that look more like modern sculptures than home health appliances and KitchenAid mixers in almost every hue imaginable.
Builders St. Louis Home & Garden Show
St. Louis; March 8–11, 2018
Its six sub-shows—Lawn & Garden, Kitchen & Bath, Interior Design, Pool & Spa, New Construction Zone, and Home Products—occupy America’s Center each spring, drawing more than 400 exhibitors. The show’s operator, the Home Builders Association of St. Louis and Eastern Missouri, also hosts a home show each year in St. Charles.
Kansas City, Missouri; March 23-25, 2018
Like the St. Louis show, this one—operated by the Home Builders Association of Greater Kansas City—is geared to consumers. Last year’s show featured a spruced-up Airstream camper, a tiny home, a container home, and a plushly decorated glamping tent.
Dallas Total Home & Gift Market

In a testament to the strength and size of the local design community, the Dallas Market Center recently unveiled the 200,000-plus-square-foot Interior Home + Design Center, open daily to the trade. The center’s seasonal Dallas Total Home & Gift Market expands the daily offerings with an array of temporary exhibits. The January show includes the Dallas Home & Holiday Expo, the Hospitality & Contract Design Show, and the Total Housewares& Gourmet Market.
Las Vegas; January 28–February 1 and July 29–August 2, 2018
This event bills itself as the only home furnishings market in the West. One of the highlights of this market, which draws more than 4,000 exhibitors to downtown Vegas, is its extensive exhibitions devoted to bedding. The upcoming show will shine a spotlight on Generation Z: Marketers are shifting their focus from millennials to this next group, digital natives who love bedroom furnishings with built-in tech management tools and smart storage solutions.
Los Angeles; April 5–7, 2018
This exhibition and conference, presented in partnership with Dwell magazine, features continuing education opportunities for industry professionals, as well as open-to-the-public events. Last year’s public schedule included seminars, book signings, and home tours giving design lovers a glimpse at spaces and products like those featured in Dwell.
