We suspect this is a fairly common problem. The question presented: “I need advice on what window treatments to use in my husband's home office. Right now we have cream blinds and well, I suspect we could do better. We'd like to do it economically but at the same time, get a significant bang for our buck. What would you suggest?” Of course, we were clueless but we turned to Rochelle McAvin, senior designer with NEXT Project Studio, formerly Dana’s Design Studio (314-276-1129, nextprojectstudio.com) to get her take on the matter. She wrote back:
“It looks like the office features traditional elements like the wingback chair and wood bookshelves. I would try drapery panels with a decorative rod. The fabric will soften up the room and give an added punch of color. You can find many selections of ready-made options. Use the rug as a guide to select the color and sticking to a pattern like a plaid will keep the stately feel.”
