EAT
Start your day at Killebrew Coffee, conveniently located in the Thompson Nashville hotel. It offers a traditional coffee menu and some creative concoctions, including a lavender haze latte. For a heartier breakfast, Milk & Honey has an extensive coffee and espresso menu to accompany such dishes as the burrata and fig, the Alabama pork biscuit, and shakshuka. For a light lunch, head to Turnip Truck Urban Fare, where you can grab a salad or a meal from the hot bar; Turnip Truck has three locations in the city and works with nearby independent farmers to bring Nashville fresh produce. At Co-op, you’ll find a variety of sandwiches that you can wash down with boozy slushies. Adele’s has been a staple in the Nashville dining scene for the past decade. The restaurant is known for an ever-changing menu of fresh seasonal, locally sourced ingredients. To celebrate its 10 years, Adele’s has released a limited-edition menu of anniversary cocktails. Chauhan Ale and Masala House serves up Indian fare with Southern ingredients. Don’t miss the tandoori chicken poutine and the saag mac ‘n cheese with masala bread crumbs.

PLAY
Catch a show at one of Cannery Hall’s three stages. Pins Mechanical Company is a bar with old-school games such as ping pong, pinball, bocce, and duckpin bowling. If you’re looking for something quieter, relax near the water wall in Noble Park, a pocket park in the center of the Gulch. Thanks to the Nashville Walls Project, you’ll find many murals in the Gulch and across the entire city. The popular Instagrammable black-and-white angel wings mural is located at 230 11th Avenue. The Gulch also has chain stores such as Patagonia and Urban Outfitters, as well as local spots Nashville Boot Co. and Carter Vintage Guitars. (What could be more Nashville than shopping for a guitar and cowboy boots?)

STAY
Thompson Nashville is perhaps the hippest stay in the Gulch. The has lobby has mid-century modern details: mustard-yellow couches and a floor-to-ceiling shelving unit stocked with vinyls. Upon entering the lobby, you’ll find popular seafood restaurant Marsh House and Killebrew Coffee. The hotel’s 224 rooms and suites have floor-to-ceiling windows and a contemporary feel with an occasional cement pillar. The rooms are equipped with a Marshall bluetooth speaker, robes, and D.S. & Durga bath toiletries. The rooftop bar, L.A. Jackson, offers scenic views of the city; it’s a popular spot with 20-somethings, so expect loud music and lively crowds.
