The Peninsula Chicago brings Asian-inspired luxury to the Windy City. With a neutral palate and blue accents, the rooms and suites are luxurious and relaxing. In-room tablets control music and lights, and they provide easy access to the concierge and services available at the hotel. Through the new wellness program, Life Lived Best, guests can take advantage of mindfulness, fitness, and healthy meal options. There are several spa-like bath rituals that can be enjoyed from your room, but you don’t want to miss the spa, which is located on the 19th and 20th floors and offers an extensive range of massages, inspired by Ayurvedic and Asian philosophies. You can also enjoy the sauna and pool after your massage. Peninsula Time allows guests to schedule check-ins as early as 6 a.m. on the day of arrival and as late as 10 p.m. on the departure date.

From its location on Michigan Avenue, the Pendry stands out. Its home, in the green-and-gold art deco Carbide & Carbon Building, resembles a champagne bottle, many Chicagoans observe. The rooms and suites are sleek and modern with clean lines and a neutral palette of grays and white, with subtle brass details. The dining options are seemingly endless. Venteux, a Parisian-inspired brasserie, serves classic French dishes and has an oyster and champagne bar. A fireplace anchors Bar Pendry and gives the space a cozy vibe. It’s a great place to relax with a cocktail and small plates. If you’re in Chicago through October, you can still enjoy the rooftop bar, Châtau Carbide.

Viceroy
Located in the Gold Coast neighborhood, the Viceroy juxtaposes old and new with its distinctive architecture. The hotel’s 18-story glass tower is tucked behind the original four-story brick facade of the former Cedar Hotel, which dates back to the 1920s and blends in perfectly with its historic neighbors. Inside, ornate gold walls are offset by sleek, modern furniture. Blue drapes open with the push of a button to reveal expansive views of the city made possible by the floor-to-ceiling windows. From the rooftop, you can take in panoramic views of Lake Michigan while lounging poolside, sipping on a cocktail. If you visit before the end of October, the Viceroy Tuk Tuk is available to take you to the beach or within a mile radius of the hotel. The blue-and-gold color scheme continues in Somerset, the hotel’s restaurant that serves seasonal American cuisine.
