Blue Roses Falling | May 22
The Big Muddy Dance Company is bringing dance to The Big Top. The performance, Blue Roses Falling, is a collaboration between BonFire Records, digital media artist Marc Macaranas, and Brooklyn-based musical artists Animal Feelings and Fancy Colors. A Murder is Announced | May 21–30
Florissant Civic Center Theatre presents a murder mystery based on Agatha Christie’s novel A Murder is Announced. The play begins with an announcement in the local newspaper about a murder that’s occurred in Miss Blacklock’s house. The play presents mixed motives, concealed identities, and many twists and turns before a final solution. $14–$22. 7:30 p.m. Florissant Civic Center Theatre, 1 James J. Eagan, Florissant.
St. Louis Cardinals vs. Chicago Cubs | May 21–23
The Redbirds play a three-game series against the rival Cubs at Busch Stadium. The first 10,000 attendees at each game receive an embroidered jersey. Tickets are sold in pods to adhere to social-distance guidelines. And if you're unable to score tickets, you can still get close to the action at the new Salt + Smoke and The Bullock at Ballpark Village, among other nearby restaurants with patios. Stories of Resistance | Through August 15
This exhibit explores resistance from across the world through different artistic forms. The featured narratives examine social, political, and geographical spaces. St. Louis provides a local lens through which to look at these stories and then draw connections to the broader world. Free; reservations recommended.
